Careplan VpH Test Glove

Careplan VpH Test Glove is a self examination aid and part of a programme to help reduce the risk of pre-term birth.  It is designed for measuring the acidity of the vaginal environment (vaginal pH).

Vaginal infections such as bacterial vaginosis increase the relative risk of premature birth. Pre-term deliveries occur in as many as 6% of all pregnancies, and a contributing factor is often vaginal infection. Acidity levels are indicative of the vaginal tract’s defence against such pathogens: a weak natural defence is reflected in an increased pH value.

Now pregnant patients from the early stages through to the 37th week of gestation, can measure their pH values with the easy-to-use Careplan VpH Test Glove so that in most cases, threatening infections can be detected and treated in a timely manner.

The benefits of self-measurement of vaginal pH include:

  • Identifies women who might be at risk of premature birth
  • Encourages early intervention by the physician
  • A lower rate of premature births.
